CrunchPix is a free browser-based image compressor that reduces PNG, JPEG, WebP, and HEIC file sizes by 40–90% without uploading anything to a server. All processing runs locally in your browser using the Canvas API. It supports batch compression, format conversion between 4 input types and 3 output formats (JPEG, PNG, WebP), a quality slider from 1–100, and a side-by-side comparison view so you can check the result before downloading. Files up to 50 MB are supported on the free tier.

Everything you need to squeeze smarter

A professional image compression toolkit that keeps your files on your device and works offline.

Batch Compression

Drop multiple images at once and compress them in parallel. Typical savings of 40–90% per image, depending on format and quality setting.

Format Conversion

Accepts 4 input formats (JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC) and exports to 3 output formats. Drop iPhone HEIC photos and convert them to JPEG, PNG, or WebP.

Side-by-Side Compare

Adjust the quality from 1–100 and drag the slider to compare original vs. compressed. Most images look identical at 70–80 with major size savings.

No Uploads

Your images never leave your device. All processing runs locally in your browser using the Canvas API — zero server uploads, even for files up to 50 MB.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. CrunchPix processes everything locally in your browser using the Canvas API and Web Workers. Your files never leave your device — not even temporarily.

What image formats are supported?

You can upload PNG, JPEG, WebP, and HEIC images. HEIC files (common on iPhones) are automatically converted so you can output them as JPEG, PNG, or WebP. You can also convert between any of the other formats during compression.

How much can images be compressed?

Results vary by image type and quality setting. Typical savings range from 40-90%. Photos (JPEG/WebP) compress very well; PNGs with transparency compress less aggressively to preserve quality.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free gives you unlimited compressions with all core features — one file at a time. Pro unlocks batch compression (unlimited files), ZIP downloads, resize options, and an ad-free experience.

Can I compress images offline?

Once the page is loaded, compression works entirely in your browser. If you lose internet mid-session, your compression will still complete. You just need internet to load the page initially.

What happens to image quality?

You control the quality with a slider (1-100). Use the side-by-side comparison to check the result before downloading. Most images look identical at 70-80% quality with massive size savings.
